Fractional CTO
I make the call, build the thing, and keep it running.
Fractional CTO for small businesses that depend on software they didn't build.
Equity is earned, not assumed
The situation I usually walk into
Someone built it. They’re gone. Nobody knows how to deploy it, the hosting invoice arrives from an account no one can log into, and every small change turns into a negotiation with a stranger.
I take the technical side off your desk — the decisions, the delivery, and the part where it keeps working. I build with agents, which is why one senior person can own a whole technical function that used to need a small team.
How engagements work
Monthly retainer — the default. I own your technical function on an ongoing basis: architecture, delivery, infrastructure, and the hard calls. You get a technical leader who is still there in month nine.
Fixed-price build. A scoped project with a defined deliverable and a fixed number. Usually how a relationship starts, and it rolls into a retainer if you want someone to keep running it.
Advisory. An architecture review, help hiring your first engineers, or a second opinion before you commit to something expensive. Lower cadence, same judgment.
Engagements start at $3,500/month — against a senior engineering hire at $150k+ salary, plus benefits and recruiting.

Good fit for
Businesses running on software someone else built and abandoned • Owners with no technical person in the building • Teams carrying tech debt they can’t prioritise • Companies whose software has become a liability instead of an asset • Anyone who needs senior technical judgment without a full-time executive hire
Not a good fit for: staff augmentation, hourly ticket work, or equity-only arrangements. Cash engagements only — equity is earned, not assumed.
